In Japan, “PALFIQUE UNIVERSAL BOND” was sold under the name “BONDMER Lightless”, and “ESTECEM Plus” was sold under the name “ESTECEM II”.
In everyday clinical practice, many kinds of cement are used to place prostheses and restorations. However, we recommend using adhesive resin cement –along with proper pretreatment of the bonding surface–to prevent secondary caries and dislodgement. Our top recommendation is ESTECEM II. This system combines superior bond strength via BONDMER Lightless (a high-strength, multi-use material), with excellent operability as a two-paste, dual-cure system that allows for the easy removal of excess cement. Furthermore, it offers outstanding physical properties, including stain rand wear resistance.
ESTECEM II comes in four shades: Universal, Brown, Clear, and White Opaque. While the Universal shade is the most widely used, we provide recommendations for all shades to guide your selection.
Effect of Cement Shade on Prosthesis

Shade Type: Universal
This report presents a case of a zirconia crown with a shade matched to the adjacent teeth during try-in.

Shade Type: Clear
This report presents a case of a zirconia crown with an equigingival margin.

This report presents a case of an inlay, where the cement line warrants clinical attention.

Shade Type: Brown
This report presents a case where the shade was used on an inlay to reproduce the dentin shade.

Shade Type: White Opaque
An indirect resin core is used in this example because it is easy to distinguish from the natural tooth structure.
